Abstract
The Explainer method and program can be used for solving problems that are more complex than people can deal with without such help. It could be used as a social network in which people can
collaborate to solve complex problems. It can be used in engineering to make emergency management plans, to do fault analysis, and perhaps to develop designs by having it explain how to meet the requirement specifications using cause-andeffect statements that describe the likely components.. A preliminary program has been developed to demonstrate its capabilities. More work on the program and its applications to engineering remain to be done.
